Congrats to Tiffany Guarnaccia of Kite Hill PR for organizing the first-ever Communications Week that was held in locations around New York City last Monday - Friday, 20-24 October 2014.   CommsWeekNY brought together hundreds of public relations agency, in-house corp comm, media, marketing, advertising and other communications professionals for 14 professional development and networking events over five days.

The TAGS Group was excited to be invited to join the planning team!  We had a great time working alongside Tiffany, Stephanie and Jodi of Kite Hill PR, working with the partner organizations and meeting everyone at all of the events.

We also received some great feedback about the beverages that were served at our social events, so we wanted to give a special THANK YOU to our wine and liquor sponsors!

First, we thank Dave Oz of Bathtub Gin, who introduced us to Kate Domaingue of HP Selections, LLC, who introduced us to Mike Martin of Vintry Fine Wines, who provided two fantastic Italian wines:

  • Riccardo Talenti's Rosso di Montalcino "Trefolo", a Tuscan Rosso blend, and
  • Marco Capra "Nascetta", an Italian white that was very similar to an unoaked Chardonnay

Next, we thank Angela Zivica Bosco and the Castle Brands team for their introduction to our liquor sponsors, Pallini Limoncello and Gosling's Rum.  Throughout the week we were pouring two delicious libations that were so tasty we wanted to share the recipes here:

PLB (Pallini, Lemon & Bitters)

1 ½ oz Pallini Limoncello
¼ Lemon
Tonic Water
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Muddle the lemon in a highball glass.  Fill the glass with ice and add Pallini Limoncello.  Top with tonic water and two dashes of bitters.  Stir to combine and garnish with a lemon slice

Dark ‘N Stormy®

6 oz Gosling’s Ginger Beer
2 oz Gosling’s Black Seal Rum

Into a tall glass with ice, pour the Gosling’s Ginger Beer and float the rum on top.  Stir (until it looks like a storm cloud).

Throughout the reception, guests were serenaded by indie singer and songwriter, Canyon, who belted out a mix of indie, rock, and a touch of 90′s melodies from her repertoire - including selections from her new album, Half.

So ... even if you weren't able to make it to last week's events, you can kick back with a glass of wine or a cocktail, catch up with the blog posts summarizing the sessions, and feel like you were there!  In the meantime, mark your calendars for Communications Week 2015 ... we're aiming for the third full week of October.

Cheers!
Stacy
